App Review
Unknown Title
Welcome one, welcome all! Pardon me while I try another format of reviewing apps. No particular theme in this issue, I just want to review some apps. Let's begin!
Today's Apps:
Stash Cannabis
Keep track of your inventory and consumption rates so you know exactly when it’s time to cop again.
App Store Page
- I like the pixel art design, it reminds me of a game. One issue is that I can't tell if it's supposed to be an actual game, or it's a business use case app. I don't smoke so I'm not that target audience here, but I appreciate the attention to detail of weed culture image assets. It really fits the vibe.
- Please consider updating your screenshots, the quality of the phone is low and I can tell what time you took the screenshot. It should follow Apple's guidelines of 9:41.
Onboarding
- I'm not a fan of seeing the paywall right as soon as I launch the app for the first time.
App Experience
- Personally, I'm not a fan of the pixel font for everything. It makes it hard to read. If someone is stone out of their mind, it might make it harder for them to use the app.
- Once again, I'm not your target audience, but the app feels geared towards college kids.
- The paywall doesn't really tell me about the benefits of the app. It's more of a meme paywall. Maybe someone will pay to say "haha 4.20 bro."
Conclusion
Overall, the app is well done. The branding makes sense, you can perform the functionalities that the app describes, and the UX is pretty standard.
VentureOut
Your Journey Begins With VentureOut Embark on a seamless adventure with VentureOut, the ultimate travel companion at your fingertips.
App Store Page
- The app icon and screenshots need significant improvement. Currently, the screenshots are minimal and lack informative captions. Consider using a 9:41 timestamp to match Apple's standard and add captions to explain the app's features.
- The description is well-written but could benefit from a more personalized touch, as it currently reads like it was generated by AI.
- Avoid using the word "app" in the title. It's a waste of valuable ASO space, and users already know they're on the App Store.
Onboarding Experience
Permission Requests: The initial experience is overwhelming due to multiple permission modals appearing within the first few seconds. It's better to stagger these requests or explain their necessity. Sign-Up Process: The sign-up screen has several issues, including typos and UI bugs. For example, the sign-up button remains in a loading state after a failure error, which can be frustrating for users.
App Experience
- The initial screen seemed to display a paywall, which was confusing. After refreshing the screen, it broke, and nothing loaded afterward.
- The UI/UX feels outdated, reminiscent of early App Store designs. Consider modernizing the interface and using a standard UITabBar for better navigation.
- The app uses MapBox instead of the native maps API, which could be reconsidered for better performance and integration with iOS features.
Conclusion
- The concept of VentureOut is promising, particularly for travelers and photography enthusiasts.
- The app requires substantial polishing in terms of UI, UX, and bug fixes.
- Improve the App Store page with better screenshots and captions, refine the onboarding process, fix sign-up screen bugs, and modernize the UI.
- VentureOut has potential, but it needs significant improvements to provide a better user experience. - - Best of luck to Eric and the team, and let's see how they evolve the app in the future.
Fit Workout Routine: Planner
Fit Workout Routine allows you to train smarter by finding new exercises to add to your workout routine and learn how to perform them correctly...
App Store Page
- The page looks well done, nice one. The title, subtitle, and screenshots look professional.
- The description is well-written; there's not much I can add here.
Onboarding Experience
- Nothing to crazy to report here, it works.
App Experience
- I would suggest adding more benefits on the paywall or highlight the existing ones better. It wasn't all that exciting for me to want to pay.
- The overall UI is okay... it's straightforward enough to use, but nothing amazing. I like the high-quality icons, nice job on those.
- I'm not a fan of the big red plus button in the middle bottom of the screen on the home tab, I get why it's there but personally feels a bit ugly for me.
- The videos for each exercise are exceptionally high quality. I feel you should highlight these more, right now it's just a piece of the app hidden behind a few taps.
- The navigation of the app is straightforward as well.
Conclusion
The app is well done, one of the better ones I've reviewed this week! Zulfekar, keep up the great work. One issue is standing out in the crowd of fitness apps, what can you do to make users want to switch over? I think if you continue to polish the UI/UX and figure out where your product fits in the market, it'll turn into a great functional app.
Finale
How's this for the format? I think it's a bit more organized, but please let me know! If you have any questions or if you want me to review your app, please email me at kenny@importfeedback.com!
